About the Role
Looking for hands-on experience in a professional office? Our State Farm agency is seeking a dependable, organized intern to support customer service, appointment scheduling, community events, and daily office operations.
You’ll work alongside our team to help clients feel welcome, keep tasks on track, and learn how an insurance agency operates. An insurance license is not required. This role focuses on administrative and customer support, with insurance advice and sales handled by licensed team members.
What You’ll Do
- Contact customers from approved lists to schedule reviews with licensed team members.
- Confirm appointments daily and maintain accurate records in our customer management system.
- Provide front desk coverage while we hire a dedicated front desk team member, including greeting visitors, answering and routing calls, and taking detailed messages.
- Assist with basic billing questions and approved administrative service tasks.
- Send document reminders, birthday messages, and other approved customer communications.
- Prepare thank-you, welcome, and sympathy cards.
- Help coordinate community activities and team events, including supplies, giveaways, and materials.
- Prepare mailers and assist the team with clerical work and permitted data entry.
- Process and transport mail; scan, file, and shred documents.
- Keep shared spaces organized, purchase and restock supplies, and help with routine office upkeep.
- Update office displays, quote boards, and seasonal decorations.
What We’re Looking For
- A friendly, professional approach to working with clients and teammates.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Clear communication skills and comfort making phone calls.
- Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to meet agreed deadlines.
- Willingness to take initiative, ask questions, and learn new systems.
- Ability to handle client information confidentially.
- Spanish-language skills to support administrative communication and translation.
Training and Support
You’ll use agency-approved scripts and procedures and receive guidance on assigned tasks. Weekly check-ins with your supervisor will provide time to review progress, ask questions, and set realistic goals.
This position does not include independently advising on coverage, recommending insurance products, quoting, selling, or completing insurance applications. Licensed staff will handle insurance discussions, including those requiring Spanish-language assistance.
